The GTA Travel Clinic

The staff of the GTA travel clinic and vaccination centre have been promoting healthy travel to residents of Toronto and York region for the past 15 years.

International travel is increasing and the health risks associated with travel are also on the rise. Travelers are seeking out more exotic and adventurous itineraries.

We provide medical consultations to individuals, families and groups prior to travel for the purpose of informing them of various diseases and health risks that they may encounter during their trip.

The GTA travel clinic and vaccination centre provides immunizations and medications to prevent, manage and treat various health problems associated with travel.

Vacationers, pilgrims, corporate travelers, adventurers. relief workers: Our goals are to keep the traveler informed, protected and safe in the best possible way.

The GTA Vaccination Centre

We stock and provide all available vaccinations in Canada. As such we are a valuable resource to patients, family doctors and pediatricians in the GTA and York region.

As medicine advances the number of vaccinations that are required or recommended are ever expanding. It is increasingly difficult and time-consuming for physicians to keep track of these vaccinations and to effectively counsel their patients about them.

There are an increasing number of patients who are surviving what were previously fatal conditions. These include patients who have undergone chemotherapy or radiation. They include patients who are on ongoing immunosuppression therapy and they include patients with bone marrow or stem cell transplantation. Their vaccination requirements and schedules are increasingly complex. Physicians in the Greater Toronto Area and York region can confidently refer these patients to us to manage their vaccination needs.

GTA Travel Clinic and Vaccination Centre provides thorough and accurate counseling for each vaccine and we have a systematic and effective approach to ensure adherence to vaccination schedules for each patient with the entire series of each vaccine. Information about the vaccinations that each patient receives is conveyed to the referring physician in writing.

Some vaccinations have stringent and difficult storage requirements. We have the necessary equipment to stock all vaccines available in Canada.

The Vaccine Specialists

While travel medicine is our specialty, we also respond to our community's need for specialty vaccines that are not necessarily related to travel. We offer protective vaccines for a healthy lifestyle including Shingles, HPV (cervical cancer and Genital Warts), Influenza (flu) and Hepatitis A & B among others.

What travel shots do I need?

No matter where you are traveling, you should know that you will be exposed to certain organisms that could make you severely ill; perhaps even kill you. As a new or even experienced international traveler you should be educated about the environment you'll be visiting. Ideally, you should schedule your appointment with the GTA Travel Clinic medical specialist 4-6 weeks prior to your departure date. However, we will always accommodate last minute travelers.

We don't just vaccinate, we educate.
